Class assignment that asked us to take a movie and put it in a different genre or time period! So of course I did High School Musical as a late 60’s teen movie
(ps they’re not really supposed to be caricatures of the real actors, they’re more like character designs! the names are there just for the sake of funky lettering)
These aren’t my favorite drawings ever, but such is finals week! The assignment was 3 spot illustrations for a book, and I chose A Picture of Dorian Gray. I obviously took a lot of liberties with pretty much everything.

Here’s something a little sillier! It was for a random-prompt character design assignment in Sophomore Illustration. I got “Brutish Frycook” and he ended up more like a Super Demon Frycook…
Time to out myself as lemongroupie! I think a little bit of my inspiration came from Liz Prince’s Fruit Salad Days, but for the most part I really just wanted to draw cute outfits and a lemon guitar. I love Lemongrab, he’s probably tied with PB for my fave Adventure Time character.
A different version of this illustration will appear a long with the work of my super-talented schoolmates in the zine Grab Life By the Lemons which will have its debut at MOCCA! (I won’t be there but please still look out for the zine!)

We had to illustrate the title of a cocktail for digital illustration class; I chose “Bloody Prince” !!

This was an assignment for my advanced digital class, taught by Kali Ciesemier! Everybody picked a tarot card randomly and had to illustrate it. I got The Devil, of course… he’s the crooked manager of a terrible but financially successful rock band. I think this was my first time drawing a nipple piercing.

I actually drew this for something that didn’t end up happening… I’m disappointed, but that’s OK. It might make a nice postcard sometime.
The first 2 pages of the BFF flashback are queued up for the next 2 weeks, and I’m nervous but excited. I’m using a totally different drawing technique than usual for those pages. I hope you guys will like it!
