patience & wrath
these are actually big posters (24 x 33 inches!)
another assignment from lifestyle illustration! a concept for a zodiac series. I chose different kinds of ice-cream floats and trendy sunglasses for Capricorn, Aries, Cancer, Leo, Scorpio, Sagittarius, and Taurus.
the big one had to be our own sign - I’m totally a Capricorn :)
good ol’ jabari is putting together this elf project at school so I drew some elves for him!!! I don’t really know too much about fantasy stuff but it was fun anyway!!
assignment from lifestyle illustration: incorporate photo-collage into our work!! at first I just had the dresses (the dresses are just edited photos) but I added the scrunchies because it made it a little more fun!
This is another homework from my Lifestyle Illustration class - the assignment was to make a 2-page sequential spread of a date… sooo romantic ski chalet vacation with my comic characters!!!
this winter I’m going to be in a show here at school of 15 illustrators drawing a ton of tiny little pictures! here are some of mine!
For my lifestyles class we had to do a set of fashion illustrations that focused on a specific real environment, I chose Petra Ecclestone’s manor in LA because I think the giant black-and-white striped foyer is amazing. Okay, so maybe it’s a little less pink in real life…
another summer class assignment - for this piece I drew & colored over a sketch that I did with grey marker !!
Assignment from advanced digital - we were asked to make a GIF of a historical hero and I chose Josephine Baker. I read that she would smuggle spy documents written in invisible ink with her sheet music!?
This semester ends tomorrow so I’m playing a bit of catch-up with all the school work I never posted!
Here’s something a little sillier! It was for a random-prompt character design assignment in Sophomore Illustration. I got “Brutish Frycook” and he ended up more like a Super Demon Frycook…
Time to out myself as lemongroupie! I think a little bit of my inspiration came from Liz Prince’s Fruit Salad Days, but for the most part I really just wanted to draw cute outfits and a lemon guitar. I love Lemongrab, he’s probably tied with PB for my fave Adventure Time character.
A different version of this illustration will appear a long with the work of my super-talented schoolmates in the zine Grab Life By the Lemons which will have its debut at MOCCA! (I won’t be there but please still look out for the zine!)
